Erika was a beautiful, kind, loving daughter. She had a radiant smile and a heart of gold.  She was born on March 12, 1982 in Michigan and passed away onFebruary 18, 2003. She was junior at Eastern Michigan University studying education/music. Erika was driving to class on very icy roads when her car was hit, fatally injuring her. It was a terrible tragedy her family and friends still grieve for her loss. She lived a full life in her twenty years.
Erika was a good student in school. She also took various dance classes for
eight years. Erika began taking clarinet lessons and was in band from age ten.
She was in Marching Band and Honors Band in high school. Erika traveled to
Europe with the band in June 1997 playing in seven countries. In April 2000
her Honors Band played at Carnegie Hall in New York, which was a fantastic
experience for our whole family. We're so very proud of her for all she did
plus for being such a wonderful girl. She was always helping family and friends.
I had written a poem about the 9/11 tragedy and was asked to publish it
internationally. I dedicated it to Erika, it was titled  "America's Saddest Day"
but the day we lost her was our saddest day.
We have dedicated many memory tributes to Erika. We planted a tree at her
high school, have a rose garden with an angel statue at home, had a quilt and
teddy bears made from her T-shirts, a memory photo book, necklaces with her
photo we wear, In Loving Memory t-shirts we wear plus celebrating her life on
her birthdays. We miss her so much and she's forever in our hearts.

Erika we miss you so much after 10 yrs., it hard to believe you're  in Heaven that long. We've met so many bereaved parents who've lost a precious child with sad stories like ours. We try to keep your memory alive with candle lightings on your special days. I'm friends with many of your HS friends on Facebook. For your 10th Angelversary, more than 50 lit candles & sent fond memories of you. Dad misses you so much & was one of few Dads who came to TCF meetings. Shaun misses you too & named his baby Krystian Ericka Rose, she so adorable, you would have been a wonderful aunt. Holidays & special events are so sad without you here but we know you watch over us & miss us too. We know you send us signs & hope for more. We miss and love you so much,Kool BeanForever ever in our hearts..
